Our Mission
Love One Another Approach
To provide an opportunity to discover and celebrate creative storytelling by fostering a united community based on excellence and mutual respect, where everyone feels seen and heard.
How our faith and spiritual values influence our business:
We desire for unity by way of evangelism. Meeting and accepting people where they are as they are.
Our Core Values
Mindful Curiosity - Keeping an open mind to those who may be different than us and maintaining a teachable spirit.
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13 NIV
Sense of Belonging - To foster an environment where all feel seen and heard.
“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” Psalms 133:1 NIV
Fostering Community - Bringing everyone together with a common vision for tearing down the walls that separate.
“Celebrate with those who celebrate, and weep with those who grieve. Live happily together in a spirit of harmony, and be as mindful of another’s worth as you are your own. Don’t live with a lofty mind-set, thinking you are too important to serve others, but be willing to do menial tasks and identify with those who are humble minded. Don’t be smug or even think for a moment that you know it all.” Romans 12:15-16 TPT
Standard of Excellence - We hold ourselves and our event to a standard of excellence in a way that honors God.
“But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.” 1 Corinthians 14:40 NIV
To Encourage - Helping people be the best version of themselves as possible.
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11 NIV
Playful Spirit - To celebrate and enjoy the diversity and creativity of God.
“From them will come songs of thanksgiving and the sound of rejoicing. I will add to their numbers, and they will not be decreased; I will bring them honor, and they will not be disdained.” Jeremiah 30:19 NIV
Our Code of Conduct
Fostering a United Community
Excellence and mutual respect are non-negotiable.
We are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and united community where authors, merchants, sponsors, volunteers, and guests can gather in a spirit of creativity and connection. These boundaries are in place to ensure we achieve this.
This is a family-friendly event. We welcome readers of all ages and are intentional about maintaining an environment that is appropriate and comfortable for everyone in attendance.
Every attendee is responsible for their own conduct and content. We do not censor individual works. Vendors determine what they sell, and attendees are expected to exercise informed discretion when purchasing. The views, opinions, and content presented by vendors and participants are their own and do not necessarily reflect those of the event organizers. The event hosts assume no responsibility or liability for individual content displayed or sold. We expect all participants to engage with kindness, professionalism, and consideration for others. Harassment, discrimination, bullying, aggressive behavior, or disruptive conduct of any kind will not be tolerated.
This includes but is not limited to disrespectful language, inappropriate comments, unwanted physical contact, participating in doxing, intoxication that disrupts the event, or behavior that creates an unsafe or uncomfortable environment either online or in person. Additionally, because this is a family-friendly event, explicit or X-rated content may not be openly displayed. This includes explicit imagery, costumes, graphic language, sensitive or triggering material, or promotional materials that are not appropriate for a general audience. We ask all authors and merchants to ensure that their displays and marketing materials reflect the standards of a public, all-ages environment. No weapons, fake or otherwise, are permitted at any of our events.
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy.
If an individual is not conducting themselves at their highest standard or is being disrespectful toward any of our authors, merchants, guests, sponsors, staff, or volunteers, they will be asked to leave immediately and will not be permitted to attend future events.
Our goal is simple:
To ensure a safe, respectful, and inspiring experience for every member of our community.
Thank you for helping us uphold the standard of excellence that defines our company, event, and community.
Our Foundational Beliefs:
Shonda Ramsey and Michelle Bolanger are Christians with a heart to serve others and a firm stance on leading in a way that best represents how Jesus led. We firmly believe in an all inclusive event that celebrates who each individual was created to be, just as they are. We understand that our religious beliefs may not be in alignment with others, but it is our hope that with mutual respect and professionalism, we can coexist in this space together.
